Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Configuring Data Technician I to join our team in Holland, MI onsite.


As a Configuration Data Technician I, you will:

Processes Change Orders for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system data changes.  This includes, but is not limited to, creation and maintenance of product and Bill of Material (BOM) data and associated product configuration structures and movement of data from development environments to production environments.  Maintains drawing/part number database in OnLine Parts System (OLPS) with additions and deletions.  Maintains Engineering Specifications (ESs).

Job Responsibilities

  • Processes Change Orders by loading appropriate database systems with part, BOM, and configuration data to support effective customer order entry and processing.
  • Initiates progression and transfer of data between client environments and Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP) database to support defined progression of data for production readiness.
  • Creates configuration rules and related information to support product configuration data sets, as well as BOMs and routings.  Assists with testing configuration models to ensure completeness, accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Assists with continuous improvement and other mass-data cleansing activities.  Identifies opportunities for standardization of process to eliminate errors and inconsistencies.
  • Serves as Systems Administrator for drawing, part number, and change number categories in OLPS, including maintenance, additions, and deletions in system, to ensure accuracy of system information.  Serves as Systems Administrator for Librarian for controlled corporate documents, such as Engineering Specifications.

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Associates or technical school degree in technology/engineering field or equivalent combination of education experience.
  • One year experience using ERP and/or MRP systems.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Holland, MI.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. 

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Experience using BOM and product configuration
  • Experience using SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) 
  • Basic understanding of Haworth’s product lines 
  • Proven success with creative approach to problem solving and development of effective solutions
  • Broad technical and organizational skills with good attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work effectively with wide range of constituents in diverse community
