Job Title: Controller
Position Overview: The Controller is responsible for managing the finance department and providing strategic financial guidance to the company. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and supervises a team of 3 members, including a financial analyst and 2 accountants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, costing, general ledger, and payroll.
- Provide timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analysis.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process and work with department heads to develop and monitor their budgets.
- Manage the year-end audit process, including preparing schedules and supporting documents, and liaising with external auditors.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, including coaching and development of team members.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations and sales, to ensure that financial information is accurate and timely.
- Stay current on accounting and tax regulations and make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting or finance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience with PLEX ERP system is a bonus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound financial decisions based on data and analysis.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
