Job Description    

Hope College seeks a faculty member to teach some combination of courses and labs in introductory geology, introductory environmental science, sedimentology, historical geology, mineralogy, and/or petrology. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, providing instruction, and preparing, administering and grading examinations; advising students on related academic matters; engaging in scholarly activities and professional development; and serving on departmental and faculty committees to promote curriculum development.

Qualifications    

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or hold a Master’s degree and be ABD in a doctoral program in a related field.


Physical Demands    

This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
