Job Overview


We are currently looking for a Photography Art Direction Lead to join our team in Holland, MI.


As a Photography Art Direction Lead, you will:


Performs as a leader in the role of photography art direction. Develops, maintains, and evolves standards and best practices to create stunning visuals that translate beautifully across multiple mediums. Through art direction, leadership, and collaboration, you will deliver and create best-in-class visuals and assets that represent the Haworth global brand direction and strategy. Supports concept development by articulating direction and creating mood boards to give photographers, stylists, designers, and internal stakeholders a solid understanding of the vision and brand direction. Understands and sets creative vision of the company’s brand identity and fosters compelling creative processes.  Supports the design team in concepts, presentation approaches and provides artwork and layout design for print, photography, electronic media, packaging, ads, and other media.

Do you have these required qualifications?


  • Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts, Industrial Design, Marketing or Advertising with focus on Graphic Design, Print Design, Electronic Media or equivalent
  • Seven years’ experience in graphic design, marketing, or advertising
  • Three years as Creative Director, Art Director, Design Director or Senior Designer and experience in cross functional roles
  • Three years corporate in-house design team experience that includes all aspects of conceptual to production design.

Do you have these preferred qualifications?


  • Experience supervising, leading, and developing work of others in highly creative roles
  • Experience working within furniture, fashion, architecture, product, or B2B and B2C. 

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:


  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of print, web photography, illustrations, campaigns, and communications.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of PC and MAC operating systems, design software (InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator) in both platforms, and other electronic equipment used in design and production of pieces (i.e., photography, video and lighting equipment).
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Knowledge of theory and techniques required to compose, produce, and perform works of music, dance, visual arts, drama, and sculpture.
  • Knowledge of structure and content of English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
