Physical Plant - Campus Carpenter

The campus Carpenter is responsible to direct, repair and maintain campus property including windows, cabinets, shelving, hardware and doors.  Assists locksmith and general trades staff as needed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Responsible for inventory and storage of carpentry supplies and equipment.
  • Evaluate existing building components and make replacement and repair recommendations.
  • Coordinate contractors in minor remodel and repair work.
  • Repair doors and hardware.
  • Install items such as whiteboards, shelving and cabinets.
  • Construct various carpentry items such as book cases and custom items.
  • Repair windows and furniture as assigned.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • High School graduate with at least five years of related experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license. 
  • Computer skills adequate to order, maintain and track supply orders and requests as well as work with the Physical Plant work order system.
  • Ability to plan and organize work based on work orders and campus schedules.
  • Must pass a background check and physical examination and possess no physical limitations which would inhibit work performance. 
  • Willingness to respond to emergency after-hours needs.
  • Flexible team player and able to work with a diverse group of people.
