Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Production Control Coordinator to join our team in Holland, MI.  

 

As a Production Control Coordinator, you will:

Coordinate efforts among supervisors, planners, engineers, shifts, departments, and plants to support manufacturing execution.  Ensures plant-wide departments are supplied with necessary raw and in-process materials. Review and release production orders as needed to ensure production efficiencies and schedule completion. Investigate and track shortages; initiates order quantity changes with other department members to meet daily production requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates production and materials in plant work centers.  Establishes production run sequences as required.  Advises supervisor of shift schedule requirements, based on workload and department performance, to maximize schedule completion performance.
  • Reviews and releases production orders as needed to ensure production efficiencies and schedule completion.
  • Provides support to Manufacturing and Distribution to maximize material and product allocation while supporting supply chain synchronization to achieve highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Initiates and coordinates shortage recovery process for past due or projected late production orders due to manufacturing influences to keep customers and other supply chain stakeholders involved.
  • Investigates and tracks shortages; initiates order quantity changes with other department members to meet daily production requirements.
  • Launches partial quantities to production floor, expedites critical orders, and communicates information to manufacturing and production/material planning to ensure customer demand requirements are met.
  • Reviews Non-Conforming Material (NCM) to coordinate production, packaging, and shipment of product.  May coordinate packaging requirements for international shipments.
  • Maintains activities and techniques required to support Just In Time (JIT) methodologies and desired inventory levels (raw material, work in progress, and/or finished goods) to support corporate inventory turn goals.  May utilize forklift to move material and/or lift/move material/product weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Communicates inaccuracies of production orders and Bills of Material (BOMs) to Engineering, Resources Planning, and Production Supervision.  Facilitates changes to BOMs and supports Enterprise Change Masters (ECMs). 

 

Do you have these required qualifications? 
  • Associates degree in Business or Operations related degree.
  • If no degree, job specific work experience will be considered at 2 years of work experience for every 1 year of education not completed towards degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment or experience with inventory management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid forklift license.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without visa or sponsorship assistance.
  • Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Analytical and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to facilitate and assist with leading activities required for achieving KPIs and meeting team goals.
  • Working knowledge of production floor environment and inventory control procedures.
  • Working knowledge of current software utilized for production planning and material control. 

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Ability to lift/move material/product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • PC and keyboard/mouse skills.
  • Understanding of JIT (Just in Time) principles.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain valid forklift license to support material availability and inventory movement.
