Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Production Planning Supervisor to join our team in Holland, MI.
As a Production Planning Supervisor, you will:
Provides leadership in scheduling and sequencing of manufactured materials and optimization of work center constraints. Ensures continuity of supply of manufactured materials for assigned manufacturing site(s). Manages inventory levels and allocation of manufactured materials according to customer demands and company objectives. Regularly reviews and understands network capacity requirements and capabilities to ensure customer demands are met. Translates demand requirements into capacity requirements for production plants.
Do you have these required qualifications?
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or Engineering or equivalent combination of education experience.
- 7 years of experience in production planning and control, production modeling, or inventory and warehouse management.
- 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience leading and developing individuals.
- Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
Do you have these preferred qualifications?
- Experience in electronics, automotive, or furniture manufacturing environment preferred.
- Project management experience
- SAP experience
- LEAN knowledge
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of ERP system(s).
- Knowledge and understanding of Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP) Advanced Planning Optimization (APO) production data structure (Production Planning/Detail Scheduling [PPDS]) and integration between Enterprise Core Component (ECC) and APO preferred.
- Ability to understand, interpret, analyze, and troubleshoot information related to production scheduling.
- Ability to conduct process reviews of current and future state to remove waste from process and create and interpret value stream maps while applying value-added engineering concepts.
- Strong project management and relationship building skills.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and affect short term and some long term business goals.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills; systems proficiency with advanced navigation and computing skills.
- Understanding of Just In Time (JIT) concepts, theory of constraints, and lean philosophy.
- Ability to understand and apply Available To Promise (ATP) concepts.
- Understanding of full supply chain integration touch points from order acceptance to delivery.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiating, and communication, both written and oral, skills.
- Ability to perform cost benefit analysis while understanding impacts to key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ability to understand and apply Material Resource Planning (MRP) and heuristics to solve specific planning tasks for selected objects (depending on focus of planning: products, orders, operations, resources, or line networks) using particular planning procedure (algorithm).
