Quality Manager

Position Summary:

The Quality Manager has the overall responsibility for the development, implementation, training and ongoing administration and continuous improvement of the quality management system, along with Leadership responsibility for the Quality team members.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and promote the creation and revision of the quality system to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and direction to department staff and crossfunctional teams
  • Champion problem solving, root cause, corrective action validation and verification for both internal and external quality issues and ensure quality metrics are utilized to achieve internal product quality expectations
  • Responsible for data collection, consolidation, reporting and distribution of key Quality KPI’s along with other appropriate quality performance goals/objectives/trends
  • Lead the Corrective Action Plan development, and work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify, implement, and follow-up on corrective action plan
  • Serve as a liaison between Product Engineering, Process Engineering, and Production to ensure quality and customer standards are upheld. Perform mitigating actions when necessary
  • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement Activities (Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma and TPS)
  • Accountable for the overall quality inspection process to include incoming raw and purchased materials along with accountability for sign off on final product inspection and other departmental inspections
  • Direct and lead Advanced Product Quality Process
  • Carefully monitor First Time Yield data in the manufacturing processes and develop improved techniques, in-station process controls, and repeatable processes that enhance our ability to control quality and reliability and produce defect-free products correctly the first time
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to understand warranty and other quality complaints that arise and make appropriate adjustments to product/process parameters as needed
  • Work proactively to implement changes and processes to improve overall quality and reliability in new product launches as well as existing products 
  • Manage processes to ensure that final products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Ability to drive expectations, performance objectives and PDCA activities to achieve Tiara’s overall quality standards
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing and Lean Quality metrics with the ability to direct and lead the APQP/PPAP process
  • Strong technical and analytical competencies
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

  • Must practice PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies as mandated per area. (Use safety

  • Must follow company safety guidelines
  • Must be fluent in the English language

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Quality related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years quality management experience
  • Marine, composite, or automotive experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate
