Sales Associate

Position: Sales Associate

Hour Media, publishers of Grand Rapids Magazine, Michigan Blue, and Urban St., is seeking a pro-active, energetic sales associate to manage the entire advertising & sponsorship sales process from incoming lead to close. This is a results-driven outside sales position helping local and regional organizations connect with their target audiences through our portfolio of print, digital, and event assets.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Job responsibilities include:

    Research and cold call prospective advertisers

    Ongoing high level of sales activity (phone calls, e-mails, networking, face to face meetings, virtual meetings)

    Effectively articulate and communicate the marketing opportunities available to help companies reach target audiences

    Speaking daily to industry professionals

    Develop proposals

    Introducing our brands to new partners

    Manage and track sales activity

    Achieve revenue and activity goals


    Relentless work ethic

    Proven sales success

    Effective sales skills, negotiation techniques and superior communication skills are essential to the job

    A proven ability to plan, develop and implement sales strategies that produce results is necessary

    Ability to develop custom marketing proposals and ideas

    Excellent phone and communication skills

    Comfort making cold calls
