Special projects Shop Assistant (Part-Time Position) 

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join New Holland's Special Projects team.  This is the team responsible for many of the features and furniture in our Pubs and Tasting Rooms, tap handles and recognition gifts for our team.  This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who's good with their hands to join a small group of true craftsmen.

Job summary 

The Special Projects Shop Assistant will support all aspects of our Special Projects Team. This position will have a significant role in picking up and delivering material to the shop & job sites while also delivering finished product to our pubs. This position will assist in the build out of our new locations while supporting the team in creating unique experiences for our Pubs and tasting rooms. The Special Projects Shop Assistant will help with the creation of tap handles & recognition gifts for our team. We will rely on this position to keep our shop and job sites organized.  

What you would do 
  • Lead and act in a manner that is consistent with our mission, vision, and values. 
  • Handle all materials for Special Projects.  
  • Operate a forklift.  
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop and job sites. 
  • Support buildout of properties & renovations. 
  • Support production of tap handles & recognition gifts. 
  • Help create & update processes.  
  • Troubleshoot tools and machines when failing. 
  • Participate in physical inventories of the shop. 
  • Meet with team to discuss projects and needs. 
  • Complete various Pub repairs. 
  • Help with seasonal changes for all locations.  
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Physical requirements 
  • Ability to work in heat, cold, and high humidity. 
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds and manipulate up to 200 pounds. 
  • Ability to work in confined spaces when required. 
  • Wear a respirator for at least 2 hours. 
  • Work requires walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing.  
Desired qualifications 
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 
  • Industrial fork truck experience, preferred. 
  • At least a high school diploma but Trade School experience, preferred. 
  • Have experience using a HVLP spray gun. 
  • Familiar with a range of power and hand tools. 
  • Experience in woodworking &/or metal fabrication, preferred. 
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, days, and nights when called upon. 
  • Willingness to learn the craft trade (ex. welding, CAD, woodworking)
