Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Project Leader to join our team in Holland, MI.
As a Supply Chain Project Leader, you will:
Own multiple projects at one time from beginning to end, ensuring the project goals are met. Lead cross-functional teams and sub-teams. Analyze risk pertaining to material supply chain planning and interfacing with suppliers to develop contractual agreements. Promote innovation by incorporating evolving technology, knowledge, and market information into project activities. Maintain awareness of competitive products and regulatory compliance issue that relate to the business. Projects may include cost reduction, supplier moves, outsourcing projects and supplier development activity.
Some of the responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Leads cross-functional teams, including project sub-teams, to develop and implement project plans which include project activity identification and schedule development, utilizing Six Sigma or other appropriate methodologies. Coordinates efforts with other departments to accomplish project objectives.
- Oversees project activities to meet identified customer needs, cost targets, schedules, quality levels, and manufacturability requirements.
- Manages project team day-to-day activities. Recommends and implements team objectives and coaches team members to achieve goals; serves as facilitator and problem-solver. Assists team members with establishing goals and makes team member assignments.
- Monitors project progress and anticipates necessity for developing contingency plans or taking corrective actions. Makes initial risk assessment pertaining to material supply chain; works with Operations team to ensure material plans are made and schedule interruptions are avoided.
- Regularly reports on and makes presentations to management regarding team performance, project schedules, budget, performance measures, support efforts, corrective actions, customer feedback, and issue identification, to provide project updates.
- Understands and utilizes standard costs and cost estimating system to develop and track project costs. Interfaces with Finance, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Engineering to develop cost data.
- Follows established operating procedures and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes. Coaches members in use of same to drive quality, on-time project completion, innovation, and manufacturability, while meeting cost targets.
Do you have these required qualifications?
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations/Industrial Management or Engineering.
- 6 years of experience working on a project team, including 1 year of team leadership, supporting supply chain initiatives.
- Experience sourcing and evaluating suppliers.
- Experience with new product introduction.
- Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship and the ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
Do you have these preferred qualifications?
- Project Management certification
- Experience in a supply chain function within a manufacturing environment.
- Use SAP in a work setting.
- Experience with Haworth processes and systems.
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
- Possess strong inter-personal and team-building skills.
- Make management level presentations.
- Manage multiple high-level projects at the same time.
- Drive projects to meet expectations.
