COMCAST BUSINESS CONTINUES MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT TO EXPAND FIBER NETWORK TO MORE HOLLAND BUSINESSES
Expansion increases access to advanced telecommunications services, helps accelerate growth of area businesses, and attract new ones
Building upon its $5 million investment since 2018 to bring its fiber network to more West Michigan businesses, Comcast Business today announced the addition of 1.56 miles of fiber and other advanced network infrastructure to reach 35 existing and future businesses in the Holland retail and commercial corridor off Chicago and Paw Paw Drives between 106th and 112th Avenues.
With this project complete, Comcast Business can provide customers in these locations with access to fast, reliable Internet speeds of up to 100 Gigabits per second (Gbps), along with a wide range of advanced commercial telecommunications services, including Ethernet, Internet, Advanced Voice, and cloud services. In addition, with the network in place, Comcast Business can quickly get new customers online.
“Knowing retail, office and commercial space is already primed for the most advanced technology helps local municipalities, like Holland, attract and retain businesses,” said Jodi Owczarski, vice president and COO of Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce. “Infrastructure investments, like the ones Comcast continues to make in West Michigan, are instrumental to our economic vitality.”
While network speed, scalability and reliability continue to be important to Holland businesses, a comprehensive solution that also offers 24/7 protection from cyberattacks is equally as critical, according to Grand Rapids resident Brad Gramlin, director of Enterprise Sales for Comcast Business’s Heartland Region, which includes Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky.
“Cyberattacks are no longer an ‘if’ but a ‘when’ for companies of all sizes and industries,” Gramlin said. “When selecting a technology partner, businesses should prioritize providers who offer a 24/7 support system in place for protecting data and troubleshooting any security breaches.”
Comcast Business offers a suite of connectivity, communications, networking, cybersecurity, wireless, and managed solutions to help organizations of different sizes prepare for what’s next. Powered by the nation’s largest Gig-speed broadband network, and backed by 24/7 customer support, Comcast Business is the nation’s largest cable provider to small and mid-size businesses and one of the leading service providers to the Enterprise market.

Across Michigan, Comcast has invested $842.3 million in technology and infrastructure in the last three years. These investments have allowed Comcast to offer an array of state-of-the-art telecommunications services, including an Internet service with download speeds up to 1.2 Gbps to all homes and businesses its network passes locally in its Holland service footprint and nationally. The company also offers Gigabit Pro, a 6 Gbps fiber-based residential broadband service, in many locations.
