Creative Dining Services makes donations to local food banks

Creative Dining Services is looking to make the holidays a little brighter.
The Zeeland-based hospitality management company recently made monetary donations on behalf of its employees and clients to 18 regional food banks in communities that host its operations.
“Feeding people is the core of what we do every day in our business,” said President and CEO Jim Eickhoff. “As the stressors, weariness and uncertainty of the pandemic continue, we are increasingly aware that 1 in 7 Americans are food insecure, and we are in a position to do our part in mitigating hunger this holiday season.
"We can think of no better way to honor our employees and clients than providing assistance to their community’s most vulnerable.”
The donations benefit food banks large and small, from Michigan to Florida to Colorado. Feeding West Michigan, a partner of Feeding America, received enough money to provide about 6,000 meals to the region's food insecure through the nonprofit's agency partners.
More than 500 miles south of West Michigan, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee received a donation that will provide about 4,000 meals to families in need.
Feed America West Michigan received a sizable donation from Creative Dining Services for the holiday season. The donation was enough to provide 6,000 meals to families in need.
“As part of our food waste reduction strategies, the majority of our dining locations have food rescue and donation initiatives in place, with regular donations to nonprofit organizations benefiting food banks, soup kitchens and halfway houses," said Creative Dining's Director of Sustainability Janine Oberstadt.
"We’re hospitality people. We instinctively want to feed and care for people. The need right now is overwhelming, but we feel good about our contribution and when we see the hundreds of volunteers packing and distributing food, it inspires us to do more, not just during the holiday season, but every day.”
Creative Dining Services prepares sustainable, personalized dining programs for businesses, colleges and senior living communities, with over 70 clients across the United States.
