Downtown Holland Seeking Performing Artists and Groups for the 2023 Street Performer Series
Holland, MI – Downtown Holland is currently accepting applications from performing artists and groups that are interested in participating in the 2023 Street Performer Series. This year’s Series will kick off on Thursday, June 15 and will continue every Thursday evening from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm through August 17. Performing artists and groups, including musicians, jugglers, caricature artists, dancers, magicians, balloon twisters, face painters, and more, are all highly encouraged to apply for a chance to participate in one of Downtown Holland’s most popular events. Details and a link to the online application can be found at www.downtownstreetperformers.com. The 2023 Street Performer Series is proudly sponsored by Gentex Corporation.
Performing artists and groups that are interested in participating in the Street Performer Series should complete the online application found at www.downtownstreetperformers.com. A link to audition materials (such as a video or audio recording) must also be submitted as part of the application process. Applications are due by Friday, May 5. Performers that are accepted into the Series will be notified by email with their schedule of performance dates and locations for the summer. Performers must be 14 years of age or older to apply and groups are limited to no more than six members.
Performers that are accepted into the Series must obtain a Downtown Holland Street Performer Permit from the Downtown Development Authority prior to their first performance date. The permit application is available online at www.downtownstreetperformers.com. Permits are $15 for individuals and $25 for groups. Permits are valid through the end of the calendar year and also allow performers the opportunity to perform at their leisure and busk for tips outside of Thursday nights in the approved performance locations. In addition to busking for tips, performers that participate in the Street Performer Series will receive a stipend of $20 for each performance date. Payments will be made at the conclusion of the Series. Performers can contact the Downtown Holland office at downtown@cityofholland.com or 616.796.0472 with questions about the application process.
