Holland Farmers Market COVID-19 Customer Guidelines
Until further notice, the following COVID-19 customer guidelines will apply for those shopping at
the Holland Farmers Market. These guidelines were drafted according to Governor Whitmer’s
Executive Order 2020-60 and recommendations from the Michigan Farmers Market Association.

1. Under Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-60, only the sale of essential items are
permitted at farmers markets. This means that the sale of food, pet supplies, personal hygiene
products and plants are the only products currently allowed to be sold at the Holland Farmers
Market. We are closely following communications from the Governor’s office and will notify
customers and vendors if there are any changes to the Executive Order prior to May 13 that
would affect our vendors or customers.
2. The Holland Farmers Market will be open from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm every Wednesday and
Saturday. However, the hour from 8:00 am – 9:00 am will be strictly reserved for those who are
immunocompromised, those ages 60+ and pregnant women. Please note that vendors may leave
early if they sell out of product prior to 2:00 pm. Currently, we are planning to host the Monday
Night Market from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm every Monday in June, July and August but that may change
if we do not get enough vendor participation.
3. The perimeter of the Eighth Street Market Place will be fenced off and there will be two
entrances and exits for customers. Vendors will be located outside only and access to the Holland
Civic Center will be limited to the restrooms only. Market staff will be counting the number of
shoppers coming in and out so we can ensure that everyone can maintain adequate social
distancing. Please expect to wait in line and maintain at least 6 feet of distance between you and
others while doing so. Your patience in line is appreciated!
4. If you have been ill within the last 14 days, caring for someone that has been ill within the last 14
days or sharing a residence with someone that has been ill within the last 14 days, we kindly ask
that you do not shop at the Market at this time.
5. Customers are highly advised to wear masks while they shop. (Cloth masks are acceptable.)
Masks should cover your nose, mouth and chin and fit snug to the face. If you choose to wear
gloves, please make sure you dispose of them properly in the trash receptacles. Do not litter
gloves on the ground.
6. Please be mindful to maintain at least 6 feet of distance between you and other customers at all
times to keep yourself and your fellow customers safe and healthy. You are asked to shop as
quickly and efficiently as possible. We highly advise you to shop alone, without children and with as
few family members as possible. This is a time to shop for food, not to socialize.
7. Please wash or sanitize your hands before you enter the Eighth Street Market Place and again
when you leave.
8. Customers are advised to wash all produce and wipe down all food packages prior to eating and
storing products at home. Food is not allowed to be consumed onsite.
9. Dogs are still prohibited at the Holland Farmers Market per City Ordinance (Section 22-3).
10. Bridge Cards (SNAP or EBT), Pandemic EBT (P-EBT), Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB), WIC
Project Fresh, Senior Project Fresh and Market Bucks are all still accepted as payment, in addition
to cash. There is currently no limit on how much you may “double up” if using your Bridge Card or
P-EBT card. Some vendors also accept credit card.
11. A number of vendors allow customers to pre-order products in advance via phone, website or
email with product pick-up at the Market. Customers are highly encouraged to explore this option
with individual vendors.
