Mark Your Calendars - Downtown Holland to Host First Ever Holland on Ice Event February 3 and 4!
Mark your calendars! The coolest event on the Lakeshore is coming to Downtown Holland on Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4! As part of the all-new Holland on Ice event, visitors are invited to head to Downtown Holland on Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4 to witness the nation’s best professional ice carvers at work as they transform over 10,000 pounds of ice into incredible works of art! Holland on Ice is proudly hosted by Downtown Holland in partnership with the Holland Area Visitors Bureau and with in-kind support from the Courtyard Marriott.
“While many know Holland for our tulips, beaches, and fall festivities, we are excited to introduce new friends to Holland’s wintertime wonder during Holland on Ice,” said Linda Hart, Executive Director at the Holland Area Visitors Bureau. “All of us at the HACVB look forward to welcoming visitors, seasoned and first-timers, to a weekend of winter fun to hold us over until springtime.”
During the two-day winter festival, visitors can play frozen games made out ice, pose for photos with interactive ice sculptures, and stroll throughout Downtown Holland to check out the ice sculptures on display, commissioned by Downtown Holland businesses. Live carving will take place in GDK Park on 8th Street between Central and River Avenues from 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm each day of the event. Sculptures will remain on display in Downtown Holland as long as the weather permits.
Downtown Holland will also host the popular Meltdown Sale on February 3 and 4 as part of Holland on Ice. Downtown Holland clothing boutiques, gift shops, art galleries, and specialty stores will be offering amazing deals all weekend long as they clear the shelves to make room for spring merchandise.
