The Macatawa Area Coordinating Council Announces Safe Street for All Grant
The Macatawa Area Coordinating Council (MACC) is excited to announce that it has been awarded a Safe Streets for All Grant (SS4A) in the amount of $300,000.
The Safe Streets for All Grant, provided by the United States Department of Transportation, will be used by the MACC to develop a comprehensive, region-wide Safety Action Plan. This plan is aimed at preventing roadway fatalities and serious injuries in a locality or region. The government agencies responsible for road infrastructure will lead the process for selecting projects to be included in the Safety Action Plan.
"We are excited to have been selected as a recipient of the Safe Streets for All Grant," said Jason Latham, Executive Director of MACC. "This grant will allow us to continue to work collaboratively with local partners and members to create streets that are safer and more accessible for all members of our community."
The MACC is the greater Holland/Zeeland area’s federally designated metropolitan planning organization (MPO) which brings together multiple local governments to address common issues and coordinate efforts to enhance the quality of life in the greater Holland/Zeeland area.
