Topics of Discussion:
How Should Communities Evaluate Data Center Engagement?
As demand for digital infrastructure accelerates, local leaders are being asked to make decisions that impact energy, water, land use, and long-term economic growth. This session will: - Explain what data centers are—and how we unknowingly depend on them every day - Break down common misconceptions - Provide a practical approach to evaluating proposals - Explore decision factors including energy, water, land use, workforce and economic development - Highlight how education and transparency build community trust and improve outcomes This conversation isn’t about saying “yes” or “no”—it’s about making informed, balanced decisions that align with long-term community priorities. If you’re involved in economic development, planning, infrastructure, or community leadership, this is a conversation you don’t want to miss.
