Description

Join the West Coast Chamber and Lakeshore Human Resource Management Association for this annual program featuring employment law updates from attorneys at Miller Johnson.

Topics Discussed:

Employee Benefits Update

Tripp VanderWal will provide a group health plan update.  In the past year-and-a-half, there has been a flurry of legislative and regulatory changes that impact group health plans (both COVID and non-COVID-related).  Tripp will cover some of the more pertinent issues that employers-plan sponsors should be aware of.

Employment Law Update

Sandy Andre will explore some of the most significant developments in employment laws (COVID and non-COVID) impacting Michigan employers to help HR professionals enhance their organization’s legal compliance and prepare for workplace challenges to come. Sandy will highlight significant 2021 legislative and regulatory changes, showcase important litigation to help guide updates to employers policies and procedures, and cover key legal issues coming into focus in 2022.

Labor Law Update

Look around, organized labor is energized. Is your organization ready? Whether it’s the Great Resignation,  “Striketober,” or the seemingly daily changes in legal requirements facing HR professionals, there can be no question that employers are facing a shifting environment on the labor front.   During this program, Keith Eastland will cover recent and expected legal changes that LHMRA members should be tracking, and provide some practical tips for employers as the manage the risks and challenges expected for 2022.
