Overview
We are seeking a skilled woodworker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking, furniture building, cutting board production and a strong understanding and respect for woodworking tools, equipment and machinery. Secondary responsibilities would include material handling and purchasing duties for the right individual. This role requires attention to detail, a desire to constantly learn, a passion for craftsmanship, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We work on a variety of high-end custom projects, so if you enjoy being challenged on a daily basis, researching new tools/methods/products, and working with a small, highly motivated team, this is the role for you.

Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Build custom furniture, cutting boards and other associated products for our retail store, including product development
  • Assist in cabinet preparation and assembly as needed
  • Inspect finished products for quality assurance, ensuring that all items meet company standards before delivery.
  • Collaborate with carpenters and other team members to understand project specifications and timelines.
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to accurately complete projects.
  • Perform heavy lifting and maneuvering of cabinetry and furniture pieces during the finishing process, as well as operate a forklift and perform other material handling responsibilities
  • Purchase/reorder shop supplies, maintain and replenish stock room
  • Ability to operate table saw, resaw, jointer, planer, and various woodworking tools
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications

  • Reliability, strong work ethic and ability to balance a variety of tasks with little supervision
  • Proven experience in cutting board production, furniture building or related fields is preferred. Willing to train the right individual on furniture and assembly side.
  • Familiarity with basic woodworking tools and equipment is essential
  • Creativity, an eye for product design and the ability to collaborate with designers and customers on custom products
  • Willingness to problem solve, learn, and apply new tools/methods/techniques is very important.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Our work schedule is (4) 9 hour days M-Th, and a 5 hour day on Friday, giving you a head start on the weekend. Occasional paid overtime.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
