Hello! So, why did I choose to start an agency with Farm Bureau? Well, it’s an interesting story really. Due to a global pandemic the consulting business that I had been working on and getting ready to launch... had to come to a stop. Interesting how some situations are completely unexpected, are used to give us a gentle push in another direction. So yes, due to covid-19 I was one of the business owners that had to close my doors... really before I had even opened them.
After a few talks with mentors I decided to go back to the job market and see what I could find, focusing on the insurance and finance industry. That’s when a recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn about an interesting opportunity with Farm Bureau as an agency owner. Now, I did work for a Farm Bureau Agent in Portage a few years ago, so I was familiar with the type of agents and company that Farm Bureau had...and it was good. After a very lengthy interview process and many talks with my husband and managing partners, we agreed that with my level of experience that this would be a great opportunity for our family and we accepted the offer.
So Mindy Cook Agency, LLC was born. I’m excited to continue my insurance career with a company that focuses on families and agriculture. What makes me different from all of the other insurance agencies out there? Well, from 20 years of working with people I’ve learned the art of listening and asking questions. I want to be sure that when you call me for a potential claim, that you and your family are OK.
I’m happy to be able to work in the state of Michigan and serve families and business owners in Holland, Zeeland, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo areas.
