ZEELAND, MI — The Zeeland community is invited to participate in the city's first-ever Pumpkin Path, a completely free autumn event that will transform Vande Luyster Square into a magical, glowing pathway.
Organizers are providing the pumpkins, asking residents to provide the creativity, and handling the illumination to bring the community together for this festive seasonal display.
Participation follows a simple four-step process:
- Pumpkin Pickup: Free pumpkins are available beginning October 19 at 10:00 a.m. while supplies last. Pickup is located directly across from City Hall at 21 S. Elm Street.
- Carving: Participants take their pumpkins home to carve family-friendly designs. To ensure proper illumination on the path, carvers must cut a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin rather than the top.
- Drop-Off: Completed pumpkins must be dropped off at Vande Luyster Square (at the corner of Church Street and Central Avenue) between October 23 and October 26 before 5:00 p.m.
- The Pumpkin Path Walk: The fully illuminated community pathway will be open to the public for viewing from October 26 through November 2.
This event is entirely free and open to all members of the public.
