Day of Caring is Heart of West Michigan United Way's annual county-wide service event. Every September, hundreds of employees from companies across West Michigan “report to work” at local nonprofit agencies to volunteer their time. This annual event helps nonprofit organizations get things done⁠—projects they may not have the day-to-day capacity to do throughout the year.

We are delighted to invite you and your team to participate in United Way’s Day of Caring! 

Examples of volunteer opportunities include:

1. Beautification Projects: Park clean-ups, community garden maintenance, and mural painting
2. Facility Improvements: Minor repairs, painting, and organizing at local nonprofits
3. Community Outreach: Assembling care packages, food drives, and supporting local shelters

We’re looking for nonprofits with volunteer opportunities for our corporate team. Volunteer projects could include, but are not limited to, meal preparation and food packaging, painting, landscaping and yard work, event support, kit assembling, and more.
