Laurie Birkholz MD & Associates and Equilibrium Physical Therapy Announce Groundbreaking for New Shared Facility in Holland

HOLLAND, Mich. — June 4, 2026 — Laurie Birkholz MD & Associates and Equilibrium Physical Therapy today announced the groundbreaking of a new shared facility in Holland, Michigan. The ceremony will take place on June 4 at 9:00 AM.

The new building will house Laurie Birkholz MD & Associates and Equilibrium Physical Therapy (EQPT), bringing together personalized, high-quality primary care and one-on-one physical therapy in a shared clinical environment adjacent to their current Holland location.

The expansion reflects continued growth in demand for coordinated care across disciplines and represents a physical extension of services already being delivered, rather than a change in scope or direction.

“When we first opened, we intentionally started small because we were one of the first practices in this model of care,” said Dr. Laurie Birkholz. “As our practices have grown, we recognized the need for a shared space that could thoughtfully support the expansion of both concierge medical care and physical therapy services — while continuing to deliver the personalized attention, comfort, and high level of care our patients value and trust.”

The new facility will include updated patient rooms, an expanded waiting area, a patient lounge, and a movement space designed to support a more functional care experience for patients.

Equilibrium Physical Therapy (EQPT) will also expand within the new space, continuing its one-on-one model of care focused on individualized assessment, movement, and functional optimization. The practice provides personalized physical therapy services across orthopedic care, pelvic health, movement training, and performance-focused rehabilitation.

Increasingly, patients are seeking longer visits, enhanced access, proactive wellness strategies, and care models that prioritize transparency, continuity, and individualized attention over volume-driven healthcare systems,” said Dr. Birkholz.

The project is being developed in collaboration with T2 Construction, Dixon Architecture, and Enza Design Studio.

Care includes hands-on manual therapy, visceral and neural manipulation, pelvic health services, and movement training focused on strength, mobility, recruitment, and dynamic application.
