Tulip Time Announces Parade Improvement Grant Program
HOLLAND, Mich. — Tulip Time Festival is launching a new Parade Enhancement Grant designed to help participating organizations elevate their parade entries and create an even more memorable experience for spectators.
Tulip Time’s parades have long been powered by the community. Schools, businesses, nonprofits and local organizations bring the streets of Holland to life each year through floats, costumes, performances and creative entries.
Through the new grant program, Tulip Time will provide financial support to eligible parade participants looking to enhance an existing entry or develop a new concept. Funds may support decorations, props, costumes, signage, float improvements and other visual or creative elements.
“We want to give our parade participants the opportunity to dream a little bigger,” said Gwen Auwerda, Executive Director of Tulip Time Festival. “Our community is what makes these parades so special, and this grant is about giving those organizations additional resources to take their creativity to the next level.”
Tulip Time is encouraging organizations to think beyond simply participating in the parade and consider how their entry can engage spectators through storytelling, movement, color, interaction and creativity.
The new program also comes as Tulip Time begins looking ahead to a major milestone. The festival is just three years away from celebrating its 100th year in 2029, and the organization is beginning to think intentionally about how its signature traditions can continue to grow leading up to the centennial.
The Parade Enhancement Grant is one way Tulip Time is investing in those traditions now, allowing participants to experiment with new ideas, improve their entries and help raise the bar for the overall parade experience in the years ahead.
