DESCRIPTION: The Momentum Center is a non-profit grassroots movement to create a stigma free community. The Momentum Center for Social Engagement is a social and recreational program for teenagers and for adults with mental illness, addiction and developmental disabilities. It houses Just Goods Gifts and Café’ which is a fair-trade store and coffee shop open to the public. Just Goods creates a space for social integration and creates an income stream for the Momentum Center.  


PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position works to facilitate greater awareness and support through effective marketing materials, social media, press releases, newsletters, website optimization, and other marketing tools.


REPORTS TO: This person reports directly to the Experi-Mentor and is supported by staff.


HOURS: This internship is unpaid and is flexible.  This is can be part-time or full-time internship with a flexible schedule.  Hours can include working remotely or at Momentum Center.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate college student
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of social media technology, resources, and tools
  • Ability to use good judgement when posting content to media resources
  • Social conscience and a desire for a more peaceful and just world
  • Desire to work with many people of all different backgrounds and abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality


JOB DUTIES:

  • Website Redesign
  • Optimize online presence for speed of access, SEO, and effectiveness
  • Create unified brand identity
  • Set up Google Ads


  • Social Media Overhaul
  • Assist with social media rebranding
  • Explore other social media platforms, not currently being utilized by Momentum Center
  • Maintain social media platforms by creating/posting content appropriate for designated platforms
  • Assist and maintain social media aesthetics and templates aligned with Momentum Center’s logo/color scheme
  • Engage social media followers using hashtags, pictures/videos, tagging friends, testimonials, etc.
  • Create mainstream social media schedule that can be utilized by staff
  • Communications
  • Explore, develop, and schedule Webinars and Podcasts using Momentum Center Community Conversations
  • Assist with creating graphics and videos for target audiences
  • Integrate website, social media posts, newsletter, and blog post
  • Perform other tasks as needed and assigned
