Occupational Health & Safety Intern

Location:  Holland, MI

Schedule:  Full Time; Monday - Friday

Job Summary:

As an Environment, Health and Safety intern at LG Energy Solution, you will focus on Health & Safety and Environmental conditions within our state-of-the-art Lithium-Ion battery plant in Holland, MI. 

This position will be responsible for work that includes:

• Assist with design and implement training related to environmental topics 
• Assist with developing work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Evaluate and create environmental incident reports
• Maintain an understanding of different production processes in order to facilitate training and provide continuous improvement such as waste/recycling management, storm water management and others as necessary
• Assist with collecting and analyze environmental data such as air emissions and waste/storm water data
• Conduct daily line walks to ensure S&H practices are being observed and to note any at-risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, faulty equipment or non-compliance with any H&S related policies/regulations
• Assist with cross-functional teams to drive improvements across the organization
• Introduce to workplace compliance evaluations in regard to local, state and federal regulations 

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental & Sustainability -Junior or Senior standing 
• Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 GPA or higher

• Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to new task and projects
• Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
• Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining high degree of confidentiality
