Software Developer Intern

Position Summary:  

Tommy’s is looking for a UI/UX Intern to support the Software Development team in meeting team objectives by taking ownership of key projects.

The 2024 summer program will run May through August. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Participate in team meetings and projects to enhance processes, innovation, drive company measurables, and learn about the organization.
• Support team in meeting team objectives by taking ownership of key projects: 
  • Create component library for Software suite and apply auto layout functionality to existing figma components and screens
  • Create user flow documentation for each software application
  • Create wireframes and mockups for a web based member application. HTML & CSS experience a plus.
  • Create reusable modules and templates in a content management system (CMS). Experience with Wordpress and Beaver builder a plus. 
  • Complete a heuristics evaluation on all projects and help escalate usability issues to Software Support. 
  • Designing new app marketing screenshots for the Apple Store and Google Play store
•  Track progress on work and projects in order to provide updates to management as needed.
• Attend program lunch-and-learn sessions and other learning and development opportunities to grow professionally and learn about the Tommy’s brand.
• To conclude internship, prepare a presentation to showcase your work to others within the internship program and team members company wide.

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes: 

• Currently pursuing associate or bachelor’s degree in related field
• Previous internship experience a plus
• Technical savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience with Azure a plus
• Previous software development and/or coding experience preferred
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
• High level of integrity and dependability
