Job Summary:
The Certified Nurse Aide Instructor is responsible for providing classroom and clinical instruction to adult students enrolled in the Nurse Aide Training Program at Thompson M-TEC. The instructor ensures that all instruction meets state and federal regulatory standards and prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe, compassionate, and effective care as certified nurse aides.

Essential Job Functions:
The CNA Instructor will serve as an educator for our 96-hour Certified Nurse Aide Training Program, helping adult learners build the knowledge and skills required to provide safe, effective patient care. Instruction includes classroom teaching, lab demonstrations, and clinical supervision in real-world healthcare environments.

In this role, you will:

 

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction to adult students.
  • Guide learners in developing essential skills for patient care in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home health settings.
  • Supervise students in both classroom and clinical environments, ensuring competency and safety.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a supportive and professional training environment.
  • Help students prepare for CNA certification and future employment opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Active, unrestricted Michigan R.N. license.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) within the last five years, including at least one year (1,600 hours) in a CMS-participating long-term care facility.
  • Prior experience teaching or supervising nurse aides.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching and mentoring adult learners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting with students and patients.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of current nursing practices and standards of care.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and crouching.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and demonstrate physical care techniques for extended periods.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate student performance and ensure safety.

 

Compensation and Details:

  • Pay: Starting at $38.00/Hour
  • Schedule: Part-Time, Full Year
  • Employee Group: Edustaff Employee
  • FLSA: Non-exempt
