Long Term Substitute Food Service Worker

SUMMARY:

Hamilton Community Schools is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker for food prep and service at the High School for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.  

 

LOCATION:  Hamilton High School

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Preparing/cooking items for one of our serving lines at the High School.
  • Washing/preparing fruit and vegetables for service.
  • Daily interaction with students.
  • Operating a cash register including daily cash out.
  • Complete clean-up of serving line and lunch tables when serving is complete.
  • Maintaining of production records.
  • General help in end of day clean-up, including dish washing, sweeping and
    mopping of floors.

  • 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to relate well with students, staff, and others in a positive manner
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
  • Ability to follow written and oral communication and comprehend instructive materials
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle more than one task at a time
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment
  • Ability to pass the food safety certification course every five years

 

REPORTS TO:  Food Service Supervisor

 

START DATE: ASAP

 

WEEKLY HOURS: 4-5.75 hours per day, Monday-Friday (school year)

SALARY RANGE: $14.24/hour (start)

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

The employee will be on his/her feet throughout most of the shift.  Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40+ pounds.
