Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Material Planner to join our team in Holland, MI.

As a Material Planner you will:

Perform basic planning functions to ensure purchased materials are in place to support manufacturing process and/or optimizes constraints in manufacturing site to support order fulfillment.

Essential Functions

  • Manages inventory of assigned manufactured parts and/or purchased domestic parts to ensure material is available to support customer requirements while maintaining financial inventory objectives.
  • Regularly reviews and understands work center and plant capacity requirements to ensure customer demands can be met.
  • Applies appropriate optimization methodologies to balance service levels, inventory, and resource utilization.
  • Develops and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to pre-established manufacturing sequences and lead times to produce executable schedule.
  • Maintains database for manufactured and or purchased parts to ensure successful processing of customer and supplier demands throughout item’s material list.
  • Coordinates transportation between plants, transit to customers, receiving, and work centers to meet business needs.
  • Monitors excess inventory, end-of-life, and lifetime buy analysis. Coordinates disposition of excess material and facilitates sale and disposal of usable material to eliminate obsolete materials.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
  • Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.

Ideally, You Have Demonstrated the Following:

  • Knowledge and practical application of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system(s); prefer Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP) ERP knowledge.
  • Ability to prioritize work activities based on emergent needs of business.
  • Just In Time (JIT) concepts, theory of constraints, and lean philosophy.
  • Supply chain integration touch points from supplier through manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in supply chain, logistics, or similar field of study
  • Education Equivalency: Associate Degree plus 2 years related exp OR 4 years related exp

Preferred Qualifications

  • Haworth Experience
  • 2+ years of Material or Production Planning experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with SAP
