At Reach for Recovery, we're dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care for individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. Our Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) team plays a vital role in this mission, offering a blend of medical and therapeutic approaches to support recovery.

Position: Medical Assistant

Location: Grand Haven, MI and Holland, MI

Job Type: Full-time work at 40 hours/week

Responsibilities:

- Assist in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of medical providers.

- Perform clinical tasks including, but not limited to rooming, vitals, administering injections, medication reconciliation, and preparing patients for examinations.

- Assist in the management and documentation of patient’s medical records, including chart preparation, coordination of care with pharmacy/other medical offices when necessary.

- Provide support and education to patients regarding their treatment plans as needed.

- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

- Comply with all legal, safety, and organizational guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program (i.e. AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA))

- 2+ years experience in a medical setting preferred, addiction medicine or psychiatry experience preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Compassion and sensitivity towards patients’ needs and circumstances.

- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
