Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Production Planner to join our team in Holland, MI.
As a Production Planner you will:
Perform all functions needed to ensure constraint optimization and availability to manufactured materials for assigned manufacturing site to support order fulfillment. Manage inventory levels and allocation of manufactured materials according to customer demands and company objectives.
Essential Functions
- Plans and schedules manufacturing operations to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manages work center alerts, resolves supply shortages, and communicates impacts to stakeholders.
- Reviews plant capacity and labor forecasts to create production schedules.
- Manages in-transit and interplant orders for timely material delivery.
- Develops and schedules workflow according to manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Utilizes ERP systems to manage scheduling calendars and resource availability.
- Participates in lean initiatives and process reviews to eliminate waste.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
- Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
- Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
Ideally, You Have Demonstrated the Following:
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of ERP system(s).
- Ability to understand, interpret, analyze, and troubleshoot information related to production scheduling.
- Knowledge and understanding of Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP) ERP system, including Advanced Planning Optimization (APO) production data structure (Production Planning/Detail Scheduling [PPDS]) and integration between Enterprise Core Component (ECC) and APO preferred.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self, and affect short term and some long term business goals.
- Ability to understand and apply Material Resource Planning (MRP) and heuristics to solve specific planning tasks for selected objects (depending on focus of planning: products, orders, operations, resources, or line networks) using particular planning procedure (algorithm).
- Ability to prioritize work activities based on emergent needs of business.
- Ability to perform cost benefit analysis while understanding impacts to key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills; systems proficiency with advanced navigation and computing skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in supply chain, logistics, or similar field of study
- Education Equivalency: Associate Degree plus 2 years related exp OR 4 years related exp

Preferred Qualifications
- Haworth Experience
- 2+ years of Material or Production Planning experience.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with SAP
