Job Description

Tenure-Track Psychology Position:

The Department of Psychology at Hope College seeks applicants for a tenure-track professor open-rank position beginning by Fall 2026. Primary teaching responsibilities are in developmental, health, or clinical psychology. Additional teaching responsibilities could include Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods courses, survey courses within one's area of psychology, or a course integrating diversity and equity issues. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester, typically with two preparations per semester. A research program involving undergraduates is an important component of this position. We welcome innovative teacher-scholars who will integrate research with teaching. We especially seek applicants who have demonstrated experience effectively working with ethnically and other underrepresented students. About the Psychology Department:

Hope's Psychology Department is a national leader in faculty-student collaborative research and seeks candidates with a research program that will engage undergraduates. Start-up funds for research are available. The college offers opportunities for internal research support and assistance in seeking external funding. The Psychology Department at Hope College has 13 tenured/tenure-track faculty and graduates about 80 majors per year. The Psychology Department also contributes to Hope College's interdisciplinary neuroscience, global health, American ethnic studies, and women and gender studies programs.

Qualifications

Applicants ideally will have a completed PhD in psychology by August 2026.
