
Varsity Football Head Coach
Hamilton Community Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Varsity Football Head Coach to lead our student-athletes both on and off the field. We are committed to finding a coach who not only develops a competitive program but also fosters a positive and supportive team culture that aligns with our district’s values.
Our priority is to hire a teacher-coach, preferably for one of our multiple open teaching positions, to build strong relationships with students both in the classroom and in athletics. However, we also welcome applications from highly qualified coaches who may not currently hold a teaching certificate but demonstrate exceptional leadership, knowledge, and experience in coaching.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the program through coordination, planning, evaluation, and overall supervision of the program (varsity, JV, freshmen, and Middle School)
- Responsible for knowing, understanding, and implementing MHSAA rules and regulations and attending the mandatory rules clinic and coaches meetings
- Must be certified (or willing to be) in CPR/First Aid/AED
- Plan, conduct, and safely supervise all practices and contests
- Manage uniforms, equipment, and facilities responsibly
- Work toward building and teaching good sportsmanship, cooperative work ethic, and responsibility
- Ability to instruct our student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary to realize individual and team success
- Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students
- Work toward developing good public relations with the parents, school, booster club, youth league, and community
- Communicate with the Athletic Director, administrators, assistant coaches, players and parents
- Provide team rules and practice schedules to athletes, parents, and the Athletic Director
- Teach relevant skills, tactics, and techniques
- Monitor and enhance performance by providing encouragement and constructive feedback
- Ensure participants train and perform to a high health and safety standard at all times.
- This position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in-game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition
- Assign duties to all assistant coaches and evaluate the performance of these assistant coaches as they fulfill their duties and responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred experience coaching/playing at the high school/college level
- Demonstrates dependability and promptness
- Provide a foundation for integrity, pride of accomplishment, sportsmanship, self-discipline, goal setting, teamwork and self-confidence.
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director/HS Principal
PAY RATE: According to Schedule B of the HEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
