Holland, MI — Holland’s own Avalon Music Academy has been nominated for an International Music School of the Year Award. The school has made it to the final round as one of the top 7 music schools internationally.

“We are so excited for this opportunity and this wonderful recognition.”, reports Rich Burkholder. He and his wife Marie own Avalon, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a School of the Arts this year.

The nomination comes from the Music Academy Success System, an international trade association for Music Academies. Avalon was selected from a group of more than 500 schools. Rich will be making a presentation at the association’s annual conference in Las Vegas on April 9.

“I’m so grateful for everything we’ve achieved. This honor is a testament to all our amazing teachers, staff, students, & families. I look forward to representing the Holland area at the conference and will do my best in bringing back the win to West Michigan!”, Rich declares.

Avalon began operations in their new location last September at 144 Coolidge Avenue, conveniently located just off 8th Street & US-31. The school teaches dance, music, and theatre to over 900 students weekly.

Rich elaborates, “We’ve got a lot of fun material to share including the opening of our new location which doubled our size to 11,500 square feet. The expansion has been incredible. We now have over 40 teachers. The community of our school is such a special thing for all of us.”

Avalon offers dance classes, music lessons, and theatre classes six days a week. You can reach them online at /
