Your members’ benefits package is one of the most meaningful ways they support their employees, and yet many people only tap into it when something goes wrong. The beginning of the year is a natural moment for employees to plan ahead: schedule annual appointments, set health goals, and be proactive about care. We’re sharing simple ways to help your members’ employees better understand and use their benefits throughout the year as well as our latest updates.

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, a timely reminder of the role prevention plays in both employee health and healthcare affordability.
Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet later-stage diagnoses often require extensive treatment, driving higher out-of-pocket costs for employees and increased claims costs for employers.4 Early detection and prevention can help reduce the need for complex treatments, and extended time away from work, as well as help avoid costly care.5 Utilize these resources to share with your members to boost awareness and education.
Promote recommended colorectal cancer screenings with our Preventative Care Toolkit and reinforce that many preventative screenings are covered in our members benefits. Encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors like regular activity, balanced nutrition and limited alcohol and tobacco consumption, which can help reduce the risks of certain cancers including Colorectal Cancer.6
By encouraging awareness and preventative action, you can support your members in improving their employees’ health, while helping them manage their total cost of care.
Give your members tools to help their employees take control of their health. Our “Choices for Care” toolkit makes it easy to share resources for exploring providers, comparing options and choosing the care that’s right for them so they can stay on track with checkups, screenings, and other important health goals.
