The Holidays Begin at the Holland Museum
On Saturday, November 30, join us for a delightful journey back in time at our Victorian Kissing Ball Workshop! During this festive hands-on crafting session, participants will explore the charming tradition of creating kissing balls, beautiful holiday decorations that embodied romance and joy during the Victorian era and led to the modern tradition of hanging mistletoe. During this 2-hour workshop, participants will enjoy a cup of cheer and learn about different types of traditional greens as they create their own kissing ball! All supplies necessary for the craft will be provided. Two available workshops: 10am-12 pm or 1pm-3pm. Museum Members: $40; General Admission: $45
On Saturday, December 7, join us for the final program of our Cappon House 150th anniversary year! Enjoy traditional holiday decorations, learn about Victorian Christmas practices, and hear carols performed by the Holland Chorale’s Dickens Singers. Enjoy cocoa in the Cappon’s cozy barn while listening to Dickens’ A Christmas Carol read by Holland community members. Programming will take place at the Cappon House 228 W 9th St, Holland, MI between 10 am and 5 pm. Museum Members and children 5 and under: Free. General Admission: $10/adult, $7/senior, $5/student.
On Monday, December 9, join us for an evening of holiday cheer at the Holland Museum’s Holiday Open House. Celebrate the season with festive family-friendly activities and plenty of holiday spirit. During this free family-friendly event, enjoy holiday photo ops, complimentary cookies and cocoa, music, crafts, and more! At 6:30 pm, we’ll announce the lucky winner of the Holland Museum’s History in Hockeytown raffle. Raffle tickets are available now at the museum and will also be on sale during the Holiday Open House, so don’t miss your chance to win! The program will take place in the Holland Museum Spark!Lab between 4 pm and 7 pm. FREE family program! No registration necessary.
History in Hockeytown Raffle; the Holland Museum is hosting a History in Hockeytown raffle! Win an all-inclusive trip to Detroit, including tickets to a Red Wings vs. Bruins game on March 29, two nights in a hotel, and tickets to multiple Detroit area museums. All raffle proceeds go to support Museum operations. You can purchase tickets at the Holland Museum front desk. Get ’em while they’re hot!
