1. futurePREP'd and West Ottawa Public Schools bring Relevance to the Classroom

Through Design Thinking professional development with futurePREP’d, West Ottawa Public Schools Science educators will bring relevance to the classroom by partnering with ODC Network, Critterbarn, & Holland BPW. The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will gain relevant experiences in sustainability, skin cancer, & weather.  

2. Careerline Tech Center Entrepreneurship Program Inspires Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Careerline Tech Center’s (CTC) Entrepreneurship program collaborated with SCORE and Lakeshore Advantage on how they could inform and inspire aspiring entrepreneurs. Professionals provided information and feedback to the students to help them build their plans. Entrepreneurship is one of 26 programs at CTC that serves over 1,600 students across Ottawa Area.

3. Zeeland Public Schools Launches an Intro to Public Safety Program

Working closely with Zeeland Fire Department, Zeeland Public Schools launched their Intro to Public Safety program this school year. It provides hands-on experience for students interested in law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, legal and corrections, and dispatch services. Students can earn their dispatcher certification and potentially college credit.

4. OAISD Capstone Offers Skilled 2nd Year Students Work Based Learning Experiences

As a way to expand their learning, the OAISD Capstone Program offers skilled second-year tech center students such as Aiden Lynch, a senior from Hamilton High School, to participate in a work based learning experience. He completed the Mechatronics/Robotics program last year and he will continue his experience at Ice Cobotics this year. Through this he develops skills in electrical work, tool handling, and robotics. 30+ CTC students will complete the Capstone Program this school year.

  5. Careerline Tech Center Opens East Campus as Phase 1 of Expansion

We celebrated the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for our newly renovated Careerline Tech Center East campus. This facility houses Advanced Healthcare, Certified Nurse Aide, Patient Care Tech, Phlebotomy, Surgical Tech and Dental programs. Our EMS, Public Safety & Security Services and Fire/Rescue will be at the East campus starting in the 2025-26 school year.
