New online tool helps member determine if prior authorization is required

A new online tool lets members search procedures to see if prior authorization is required and get an estimated cost. Make sure your members use the flyer below to ensure their employees are registered for their online member accounts to take advantage of this new tool.

Same support, simpler experience and more convenience — in one place

The BCBSM Coordinated Care app will be retired on Dec. 31, 2025. But don’t worry. Employees can now get support to manage their care and health plan through their member account at bcbsm.com or the BCBSM mobile app. This shift streamlines digital engagement by consolidating support and resources in a single location.

There are changes for oral chemotherapy copay and coinsurance, effective Jan. 1, 2026

To comply with Michigan Public Act 170 of 2023, a cap will be placed on copay and coinsurance costs for oral chemotherapy medications covered under the pharmacy benefit for Blue Cross and BCN commercial members with coverage through a fully insured group.

Blue Cross  and Corewell Health have established a joint quality committee, formalizing a decade‑long partnership that embeds value‑based, outcomes‑focused contracts into the Blue Cross network through 2030. The committee plans to develop metrics and incentive structures aimed at reducing post‑operative complications and improving patient outcomes while containing costs.

Let your members know that they, a team member or anyone in their organization is in a crisis, help is just a call or text away. The national Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7. It’s free, confidential and has representatives ready to listen. Equip your members and their employees with information on this important resource.  They can call or text 988 or click the link below for a quick way to locate local Michigan crisis‑care centers to ensure the right level of care at the right time.

Digital retinal imaging is available to Blue VisionSM members for a discounted out-of-pocket cost

When combined with a vision exam, digital retinal imaging helps providers catch, monitor and treat the early onset of different diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, before they become more complicated and costly. November is Tobacco Awareness Month — an ideal time to support employees trying to stop smoking, vaping or using nicotine. Support is available for your members and their employees who have been diagnosed with cancer

For fully insured groups, Cancer Support is available through a  24/7 on-demand program that uses OncoHealth’s virtual platform, Iris.  The program provides personalized, cancer-focused guidance and support to employees and their caregivers from a team of oncology specialists and peer mentors. Your members canuse our toolkit to share details and encourage their employees to enroll.
